Family Weekend activity

Families and friends wondering what life is like for their favorite student at Carnegie Mellon University will have an opportunity to experience it for themselves this weekend, Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

Through open houses, academic programming, exhibits, student performances, varsity athletic events, planned gatherings and special events, Family Weekend offers ways to help share the student experience.

"The weekend will provide a wonderful chance for families to spend quality time with students," said Anne Witchner, assistant dean of Students Affairs. "They can experience firsthand some of the favorite places on campus and in Pittsburgh, meet friends and discover some of the resources and opportunities that are available."

The many activities offer guests a chance to learn about the university by meeting faculty, staff, alumni and other students who are passionate about CMU. A welcome area will be open in Kirr Commons in the Cohon University Center, throughout the event, and President Subra Suresh will welcome families, students and guests at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 in Rangos Ballroom.
